Bucky Dome in Montreal

Comments:
I always wonder what "Bucky" would think since the city of Montreal went ahead a few years back and built a typical "cubic" building to house a water museum within the volume of the dome.

What irony, what a waste of space and of architectural innovation and intent.

The barbarians live among the ruins of greatness, never seeing what surrounds them.

The dome as is always reminds me of a soapbubble seen from afar. Form precedes wonder.

Well, that dome was actually built to house the US pavilion for the universal exposition that was help in Montreal in 1967. A fire burned the plastic (?) panels that enclosed it, in 1976, leaving the metal frame standing. A musem was installed in it in 1990.
